RUDOLPH CARL GORMAN (USA, 1937

THE HUMAN HEART - A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT. ARTIST RUDOLPH CARL GORMAN (USA, 1937) AND A BIT OF WISDOM FROM LYUBVNOY OSHO

Rudolph Carl Gorman - Navajo Indian people. Born in 1937 in a family of artists. My father taught painting may therefore Rudolf painted since childhood - from 3 years. Painted everywhere - on the sand, dirt, scratching on the rocks comprehensible only to him pictures. By the way, the painting on the sand is one of the elements of traditional Navajo culture. Their first "sculpture" he sculpted from natural clay, since clay future artist in childhood is not seen. Big role in his upbringing belongs grandmother who enthusiastically talked about his roots, the ancestors, bright colors to paint the legends of his tribe. The boy has a slim susceptibility felt good nature. The main occupation of the Navajo pastoralism is so very young, he went into the valley and herded sheep. High sky, flowers, grass, silence fills his soul with a special state of peace, happiness and harmony. He liked to reminisce about childhood years and this sweet feeling of freedom overwhelms him at the time. Then study, service in the Navy, again studying at the university, but the specialty. In 1958 he won a scholarship to study, outside the United States and went to study at the College of Art in Mexico City. Relationship with known Mexican artist noticeably influenced his work.

His paintings are colorful and symbolic, and favorite topic - women. Female characters in his paintings are special. He humorously says that "women are better filled with large leaf", and he is not a fan of the ideal woman, they do not happen. Perfect female characters exist only on the covers of glossy magazines. His "big women" are gentle, graceful. Flowing lines and smooth, really fascinating. And though the paintings resonate in their stories and felt that many of them - fashion (original paintings sold out immediately), but I want to see his paintings. Women in traditional costumes, shawls, jugs, flowers, starry sky, the birds - everything is lush, beautiful, warm and even sublime.

Since 1970, it became known not only in the US but also abroad. Rudolph Carl Gorman, being a famous artist of drawing and painting, sculptor, became the face of Indian contemporary art. He was called the "Indian Picasso" or "Picasso of the Navajo." In 37 years, he opened the world's first Indian art gallery. The artist had over twenty solo exhibitions, and a day of 1986 in San Francisco became the Day of Gorman. Life Rudolph Carl Gorman, his work served as a model for many talented Indians. He went from working with oil, acrylic and pastels with a lithograph, ceramics and sculpture. His image of a woman - chaste, feminine - you can see on the jugs and vases.

Female images Gorman are in the collections of many museums in the world and in private collections (Gregory Peck, Schwarzenegger, Elizabeth Taylor, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Andy Warhol). By the way, Andy Warhol (iconic persona of Modern Art), even made his portrait.
